My work starts with the classroom and the people in it. Helping instructors teach more effectively, not replacing them with technology.

I develop learning experiences that connect technical knowledge with hands-on practice. Today, that includes conversational AI that helps students work through questions while keeping instructors in charge of the learning.

As the founder and developer of Professor HVAC®, I am exploring how AI can extend support beyond scheduled classroom hours without replacing the judgment, expertise and guidance of an educator.

Experience

James Morales is a nationally recognized educator, presenter, and innovator in Career and Technical Education, serving as an HVAC instructor at Yavapai College, specializing in technical education and emerging instructional technologies.

James has become known for integrating advanced technology into hands-on technical education. In 2023, he introduced Virtual Reality instruction into his classroom to enhance student engagement and immersive learning. In 2024 and 2025, following a college-wide initiative focused on artificial intelligence, he developed and implemented an AI-assisted educational platform designed to support instructors and students in technical education environments. The platform was tested directly in the classroom and focuses on strengthening instructor-led learning through responsible AI integration.
